Trezor.io/Start | Starting® Up® Your® Device®

A clear, secure, and colorful step-by-step starter guide — headings H1 → H5 included for printing and presentation.

Introduction

Welcome! This presentation walks you through setting up your Trezor hardware wallet safely and confidently. Follow the organized headings (H1–H5) for readability — each section is intentionally concise so you can present or print it. The goal: get your device running, protect your recovery phrase, and verify everything using official Trezor tools.

Quick Start — 6 simple steps

1Unbox & Inspect

Hiding tamper signs

Ensure the packaging is sealed and the tamper-evident sticker is intact. If anything appears modified, stop and contact official support.

2Connect your Device

Use official cable & trusted computer

Connect your Trezor to a computer using the included cable. Prefer a personal, malware-free machine. Do not use public or untrusted computers.

3Open Trezor Suite or Start Page

Visit the verified start URL

Open https://trezor.io/start or Trezor Suite to begin the guided setup. Always check the browser address for HTTPS and correct domain.

4Create a PIN

Choose a secure PIN you can remember

Set a PIN on the device when prompted. This protects local access to the wallet if the device is lost or stolen.

5Write Down Recovery Seed

Offline, on paper, in a safe place

Your recovery seed (24 words) is the single most important backup. Write it down on the supplied card — never store it digitally.

6Verify & Update

Confirm firmware & address

Verify firmware authenticity and test receiving addresses from the device UI to ensure no tampering. Keep firmware up to date via official sources.

Best Practices (H3)

  • Never share your recovery seed: not online, not over the phone.
  • Use a strong PIN and enable passphrase protection if you understand it.
  • Store backups in separate, secure locations (bank safe, safety deposit box).
  • Use official Trezor software: Suite, start page, and official blog/firmware pages.

Troubleshooting (H3)

Common scenarios

If the device shows an unexpected message, disconnect and retry. For lost PINs, recovery is possible with your seed — but only if you have the seed backed up. If the device behaves strangely, seek help from official support — do not follow random forum instructions without verifying.

H4 — Advanced Options

Consider adding a passphrase (hidden wallet) for added privacy — but understand the operational risk: losing the passphrase means losing access. Use multi-device strategies (multiple seeds) for institutional or high-value holdings, and consult official documentation before attempting advanced setups.

H5 — Closing & Presentation Notes

This page is formatted for printing and presentation. Headings H1→H5 are included to create slides or handouts quickly. Keep a copy of your recovery written in a physical medium — and always prefer official Trezor tools and domains.
